Sophia Members meet seasonally

Our primary mission is to support the healers and leaders who support and sustain our communities. In meeting monthly we support one another in fellowship, affirm our purpose, and replenish our energies to continue our service in the world. To that end, we have a great feast once a season where we meditate, pray and sing together, share our news and ask for help when needed, join in a listening circle, learn and grow by being together, and plan our seasonal outreach, our annual giving and our community events.

Ongoing Motivation and Support

Sophia supports its members with scholarships for on-going professional education. We also support one another with donated healing services as needed by members. Finally, we give an annual financial gift to an outstanding local service organization, announced each year in December. In past years we have been able to give to La Maestra, to Shakti Rising in San Diego and to the Grandmother's Project in India.

The Sophia Gift

Once a season, the Sophia Circle members choose a woman of service from our larger community who is a powerful giver, nourisher, inspiration to many and we offer her our Sophia Gift, which is a month of healing services from each of our 12 members. It is our hope that by helping to refill her “well,” she in turn can continue to be the well-spring of love and service that sustains so many.

The Sophia Conference

Every year in the Autumn, we host a one-day event inviting all the women of service in our community to Retreat with us to contemplate and confer with one another on the value of the Sacred Feminine within and all around, seeking solutions to engender greater balance, live our love, and restore wholeness. Our next Sophia Conference begins the evening of 11.11.11 with a celebration of Oneness and continues all day Saturday, 11.12.11 with our Women's Retreat. Details are on our Events page.
